Each individual is responsible for:
- Providing the proper safeguards for classified information
- Reporting security incidents
- Understanding the sanctions for noncompliance
Top Secret
Top Secret Definition
Top Secret shall be applied to information that the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause EXCEPTIONALLY GRAVE damage to the national security that the original classification authority is able to identify or describe.
Secret
Secret Definition
Secret shall be applied to information that the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause SERIOUS damage to the national security that the original classification authority is able to identify or describe.
Confidential
Confidential Definition
Confidential shall be applied to information that the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause DAMAGE to the national security that the original classification authority is able to identify or describe.
