On Duty Twenty-Four/Seven

AFI 1-1
*The mission must be accomplished, even at great risk and personal sacrifice.*

Airmen are always subject to duty — including weekends, holidays, and while on leave.

If directed by competent authority, Airmen must report for duty at any time, at any location, for as long as necessary.

Resilience

We must strive to be resilient in four dimensions:

  • Physically
  • Mentally
  • Emotionally
  • Spiritually

Prepared to meet challenges both in the deployed environment and at home station.

Why Standards Are Higher

The USAF enforces more restrictive rules and elevated standards than the civilian community due to:

  • The importance of the mission
  • The dangers of military service
  • National and international influences
  • Implications to global operations

General Orders

Published to provide guidance for maintaining good order and discipline in the deployed setting.

Current operations place Airmen in areas where local laws, customs, or mission requirements prohibit or restrict certain activities that would be permissible at home.

Consequences
Members who fail to comply with General Orders may face adverse administrative action, non-judicial punishment, or criminal prosecution under the UCMJ.
