Promotion Eligibility Cutoff Date (PECD)

Definition
The promotion eligibility cutoff date (PECD) is used to determine Airman promotion eligibility — and is the cutoff date by which selection folder contents and promotion evaluation brief information must be updated and complete.

The PECD is the date that promotion criteria (data on the Data Verification Brief) is considered for board evaluation.

SNCO Notes

For SNCOs, this information is then used to post the SNCO evaluation brief filed in the SNCO selection folder.

RI/SDI Competition

Important
Individuals with a reporting identifier or special duty identifier designated as their control AFSC on the PECD will compete within that RI/SDI.

Where SNCOs Compete

  • MSgt → SMSgt: competes in the superintendent level of the control AFSC held as of the PECD
  • SMSgt → CMSgt: competes in the chief enlisted manager code of the control AFSC held as of the PECD
